There are people in need and others who want to help. We're looking for both.

How To Help

It’s easy to overlook people around us experiencing hunger or homelessness; we can look the other way and not think about it; it’s easy.  Most of us aren’t even aware that we have neighbors who don’t have money left in their budget for food or rent. Sunrise Outreach targets communities struggling most with poverty, and develops food banks and help centers with community mobilization.  We involve churches and other community groups to connect people with their neighbors.  All of our food distribution is done with neighborhood volunteers. We need help for transportation, handing out food, unloading trucks, and set-up/clean-up.

1. We have opportunities to help at our soup and sandwich outreach located at the Yakima Vineyard Church, 221 E MLK Jr Blvd, downstairs between 8:30 am till noon, Monday through Friday.

2. The Yakima Food Bank also runs at the Yakima Vineyard Church, Thursdays, 8:30 am till noon. Volunteers can work Tuesday and Wednesday mornings to help load and Friday mornings to help clean-up and set-up for the next week.
